Banh Sua Island - The gorgeous virgin island of Quang Ninh Province

Banh Sua Island has an area of less than 1km², the widest place is only about 420m and it looks like a baby turtle in the vast sea. Therefore, this miniature island is often compared to the greenhorn in the “grand family” of hundreds of large and small islands and being surrounded and protected by The Vang (Yellow Card) island (West), Dong Chen island (East), Phi Ma island (South) and Bua Thuoc island (North).

Wandering on this island, travellers will always find interesting things around this vast oasis in the wide sea. Somewhere on this lovely charming island, travellers will be able to relax in a peaceful and well-being space, enjoy the crystal blue water, swim around the island and snorkel to see the colourful corals.

The unique feature of Banh Sua Island is the quiet and peaceful ambience that it possesses. To explore this charming land, travellers have to wake up at 5 am to go with the locals to catch sea cucumbers, when the tide is at its lowest. Feeling barefoot on the fine sand, racing against the rising tide, the excitement feeling promises a joyful day. After that, taking a boat to Quan Cave, about 30 minutes from the island, which was used to be a military base during the American sabotage war in the North. There are stalactite columns with a variety of eye-catching shapes. When the sun rise and shine, the boats stop at the fishermen’s rafts on the bay. Travellers can buy seafood back to Banh Sua Island and ask the locals to cook for lunch.

The “greenhorn” in the family of Bai Tu Long Bay has an area of less than 1km² so there are no long sandy beaches like other islands, however, in return, the sea is extremely clear. On the island, there are a number of works serving mollusk farming, production and homestay-style accommodation. Travellers can feel free to swim in the cool water and admire colourful corals. In the afternoon, travellers should visit the pier connected to the oyster farming area to swim and catch oysters with local people. On the island, there is a steep rocky mountain, which is an ideal place for admiring the beautiful dusk till dawn moments and embracing a breathtaking view of Bai Tu Long Bay. When the dawn breaks, travellers will be amazed by the golden honey rays of sunlight shining, illuminating the distant islands. At the set of day, the blue Bai Tu Long Bay appears in the soothing golden sunlight, the burning red sun slowly setting down the mountain range of all shapes and sizes. Being immersed in nature, the life of fishermen on the island, it is believed that travellers can experience tons of interesting things.
