Over recent years, cyclos have no longer been a regular means of transport for local residents in HCM City, but have been favoured by the majority of foreign tourists when they visit the city.

Duong Quang Trung of Saigon Adventure Tours says around 300 tourists choose to travel by cyclos per month.

Jan, 24, from Canada says his homestay manager has introduced him to this type of tourism and he finds it interesting.

Both locals and international visitors choose to discover the southern city's culture by the water bus service.

Visitors queue up at the ticket counter of Water Bus Saigon, with the ticket priced at VND15,000 each.

Public bicycles are also a favourite mode of transport among tourists. They can easily find these bicycles in District 1 and each tourist can pay VND 10,000 per hour for using this service.

Nguyen Phi Long, 18, of District 1 says this is a suitable means of transport for those who like to go slowly to admire the scenery and using public bicycles is also very simple, particularly as it only takes about five minutes.

Double-decker buses with open roofs take tourists to popular attractions around the city.

Like other countries in the region, double-decker buses are commonly used for city tours.

The operation time of the day service is from 9am to 6:10pm. Buses will depart every 30 minutes and ticket prices are VND300,000 for a city tour lasting around one hour.
