Province allows paragliding for tourists over UNESCO-recognized national park

Authorities in the central province of Quang Binh have licensed two private travel firms to offer paragliding for visitors to explore Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park from above.
Jungle Boss Company, which specializes in trekking tours to Quang Binh, and Hanoi company Fly High Vietnam will soon set up paragliding facilities, according to the provincial portal.

Earlier northern localities such as Hanoi and Ha Giang, Yen Bai and Quang Ninh provinces and the central beach city of Da Nang also allowed paragliding tours as part of efforts to boost tourism.

Created in 2000, Phong Nha-Ke Bang is recognized as a global heritage site by UNESCO and is home to over 300 caves and grottoes that were formed some 400 million years.

Quang Binh authorities are making efforts to boost tourism following a two-year slump caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
